- Antique Handmade Wooden Yarn Winder Spinning Wheel Attachment
- I don’t know much about this. It has been with the family for many years. It was left in a shop that my Grandma took over in the 70s/80s. It originally came from Alberta. There are pieces of paper with instructions and one piece of paper that says “Papas Spinning Wheel that Papa made for Arthur”. I don’t know who Papa or Arthur is.
- I don’t know exactly how it all goes together so I can not be sure that it is complete but you can see there is a spool flyer, bobbin and a yarn winder. Apparently this hooks up to a singer sewing machine and uses the treadle as a replacement for a spinning wheel.
- The wood box is also part of it (see extra photos) and attaches to a sewing machine with the lid of the box being used a leg.
- The box has a hole and pin type locking mechanism on its end.
- When all closed up, the box measures 25.5 inches by 9.25 by 5.25 inches
- I’m sure if you are reading this, you probably know more about it than I do and whether it would still be functional or not but it would make a great decorative display piece.
- It would definitely make for a unique gift for the collector out there.
