Fast Facts : Eilleen Regina Edwards was born August 28, 1965 in Windsor, Ontario. Her career as a singer-songwriter began at a young age writing her first songs at the age of 10. Her first self-titled album was released with limited success. Her second album, The Woman in Me co-written and produced by Mutt Lange, achieved four #1 hit singles. The album won a Grammy Award for Best Country Album as well as Album of the Year by The Academy of Country Music. Her third album, Come On Over, a country/pop/rock crossover genre for which she is best known for, is the biggest-selling album of all time by a female musician. It won four Grammys including a Best Country Song Award and Best Female Country Performance. Twains fourth album Up! debuted at #1 on the Billboard Charts.

Shania Twain is the only female musician to have three albums certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America. She has been inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame and was invested as an Officer in the Order of Canada.
