Fast Facts : Christopher Julius Rock III was born Feburary 7, 1965 in Andrews, South Carolina. He began his career as a stand-up on the comedy circut where he became friends with Eddie Murphy who gave him his first acting role in Beverly Hills Cop. Other notable roles include his appearance in Dogma, Lethal Weapon 4 and Bad Company.
Rock starred in his own HBO comedy specials and hosted his own variety talk show, The Chris Rock Show. Both of which has earned him Emmy Awards. He has won Grammy Awards for his comedy albums, Roll with the New, Bigger & Blacker and Never Scared. He was a cast member of Saturday Night Live from 1990 to 1993.
Charities supported by Rock include HOPE Worldwide and The HollyRod Foundation.
He helped lauch the RED campaign and is an Ambassador for UNICEF.
